Preparation for calculus and other mathematics courses. Exponentials, logarithms, trigonometry, polynomials, and rational functions. Satisfies no requirements other than contribution to the 180 units required for graduation.

Rachel Cohen Lehman
Rachel Cohen Lehman is a Lecturer at the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Irvine, (UCI) since her Ph.D. in 1997. Dr. Lehman received a B.S. (1988), and M.S. (1992), and a Ph.D. (1997) from UCI, all in mathematics. Her Ph.D. thesis was titled, "The Acquisition of Stable Percepts via Bayesian Directed Convergence." In addition to her teaching position at UCI, she is a mathematical consultant for the ALEKS Corporation, which is a distance learning company. She has been with ALEKS since its foundation in 1996 and has been playing a leading and instrumental role in building some of its distance learning moduli. Dr. Lehman is a dedicated instructor and has a strong desire and passion for teaching mathematics and has won many teaching awards because of this. Sarah Eichhorn is the Associate Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Eichhorn received her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Arizona in 2004. Her research interests include dynamical systems, planetary physics and undergraduate mathematics education. Dr. Eichhorn has won several teaching awards, including the national 2011 Mathematical Association of America Alder Award, recognizing an outstanding undergraduate mathematics instructor who has had an impact beyond their own classrooms.
