Environmental Art in the Expanded Field, ART 80E
Examines the ways artists engage, interact, and comment upon ecology and nature in their artworks by examining environmental art from the 1960s through the present. Offers students a foundational introduction to art and artists working in the field of environmental and ecological art/activism.

Elizabeth Stephens
Elizabeth Stephens, Ph.D. has been a filmmaker, performance artist, activist and educator for over three decades. Stephens is the Founding Director of the E.A.R.T.H. Lab at UC Santa Cruz where she is the Department Chair and Professor of Art. Since 2015 she has earned a Ph.D. in Performance Studies from UC Davis. She has produced two new feature documentary films with her collaborator Annie Sprinkle. She received a Rydell Visual Artist Fellowship, a Eureka Fellowship, and participated in documenta 14. Stephens and Sprinkle exhibit art work and screen films nationally and internationally. Most recently she and Sprinkle have performed for MOMA's Modern Monday and screened their film, Water Makes Us Wet at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
