Introduction to Fresh Water: Processes and Policy, ENVS 65

Introduction to freshwater resources from multiple scientific and policy perspectives. After a review of basic concepts, water issues affecting cities, farms, open space, and multiple-use landscapes are studied. Students cannot receive credit for this course if they have previously received credit for course 165.

Prof. Haddad created this class to reach students are interested in fresh water issues and policy.  He wants his students to take away new knowledge and appreciation about the world-wide importance of fresh water resources.  He has won numerous teaching awards and published about many aspects of water policy and management. He has undertaken research projects involving local, state, and national water issues, and even water management on the International Space Station!  Currently he is helping several public universities in Egypt improve their water research and teaching capacity on a project funded by USAID.
