World Wisdom Traditions, CLAS 121R

This online course explores wisdom traditions of the pre-modern world, examining formative ideas on the art of living well and contrasting world-wide teachings on what it means to be human, one's obligations to others, and the ideal relationship with the natural world.

Prof. Matthew Herbst is Director of the Making of the Modern World GenEd World History program at UC San Diego’s Eleanor Roosevelt College as well as faculty co-director of the Classical Studies Program and co-director of Study Abroad.
